PlacesYoullGo

One student’s Dr. Seuss Day artwork, writing about the places he wants to go.

Every year students across the U.S. celebrate Dr. Seuss on his birthday. Peter Paul honored this favorite author and the love for reading with a special event for students. Fun activities included a green eggs and ham afterschool meal, a visit from The Cat and the Hat, and classroom projects; the day was filled with reading and celebration. Ms. Davis, our reading specialist, organized special activities. One activity, inspired by the Dr. Seuss book ‘Oh the Places You’ll Go,’ gave students the chance to draw and decorate a hot air balloon. Students then wrote about the places they hope to visit one day. Each student also received a new book through the generosity of Capital One. The Confirmation class from St. Stephen’s made Dr. Seuss notes to go with candy bars as a treat to our kids. We express great thanks to Dana Griffith of Capital One, St. Stephen’s, all of our wonderful volunteers, and Marty Bland of Capital One, as the Cat in the Hat!
