Ms. Knight, PPDC’s Director of Education, awards Demario Lonzer with the Superman Award at Woodville’s graduation ceremony.

June brought scholastic recognition and celebration at PPDC with “moving on” ceremonies from local schools for our 5th and 8th graders.

PPDC hosted the Fairfield Court Elementary “Moving On” ceremony for 5th graders in our auditorium and at the same time, PPDC Executive Director Damon Jiggetts was the Guest Speaker at the Woodville Elementary School transition ceremony, held at Good Shepherd Baptist Church. Damon shared a message highlighting student hard work and parent accountability and engagement.

Many PPDC students were recognized for achievement including Jama Ibrahim as the Scholastic Standout and Ruby Martin award winner for the year at Woodville Elementary. Jama will be attending Anna Julia Cooper School for middle school. He is the same student we highlighted in the February 2015 Newsletter for giving the Martin Luther King Jr. ‘I have a dream’ speech at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Demario Lonzer was awarded the Superman Award for his display of leadership at Woodville. Demario will attend Martin Luther King Jr. for middle school. Suado Maday and Paris Jasper graduated from Woodville as well. Suado will attend Franklin Military Academy and Paris will start middle school at Anna Julia Cooper School.

We are so proud of our graduates and their successes. Many will return to Peter Paul for Summer Promise and the next school year. Join us in congratulating the class of 2015!
