Peter Paul has our very own celebrity working on staff!
In the July 21 Special Election, PPDC Director of Operations, Lamont Bagby, won the house seat as Delegate of the 74th District of Virginia. As a former member of the Henrico County School Board, an active member of his community and committed staff member here at Peter Paul, we were confident he would successfully run for office. On July 23, Mr. Bagby was sworn in to office at the Capitol in downtown Richmond, where PPDC middle school students joined Mr. Bagby for the celebratory event. Before the ceremony, the students were given a full tour of the Capitol, learning about the history of the building and the famous Virginians past and present who have walked its halls. The swearing-in ceremony was held in the House Chamber where the students sat in the observation gallery, overlooking the house floor. Delegate Bagby even gave special thanks to the students and his PPDC team for being there, which put big smiles on the faces of the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Afterwards, friends, family, and students visited Delegate Bagby’s new office in the House of Delegates, where the kids enjoyed lunch and refreshments, while getting a glimpse at the new role Mr. Bagby assumes as a Virginia delegate. Both students and PPDC staff alike took great pride in witnessing Mr. Bagby’s swearing-in ceremony and look forward to celebrating his successes as he heads down this new and exciting path.
