PPDC and our Promise Family Network (PFN) has been selected as a Community Partner to help to identify “High Potential” candidates for UnBoundRVA’s breakthrough entrepreneur development program. UnBoundRVA’s founders, Richard Luck and Sarah Mullens have developed a process for building successful entrepreneurs that taps into existing but sometimes hidden talents. UnBoundRVA invests in high potential individuals from low-income communities (with a focus on Richmond’s East End), connecting them to the resources, training, and the support needed to become successful entrepreneurs. Luck and Mullens view the entrepreneurs as living inspiration to help others to break the cycle of poverty.
Peter Paul’s PFN candidates Veronica Blount and Requel McKeever have been selected to participate in the program. Veronica has great interest in interior design and event planning. She hopes to transform her passions in these areas into a profitable business. Requel has several ideas for her potential business plan, and looks forward to narrowing down her ideas through the first stage of the process.
Veronica and Requel are among the top twelve candidates that will enter a Six-Week Workshop. At the conclusion of the Six-Week Workshop, UnBoundRVA will select five High Potentials to continue onto the next level of the program. Success in the program could ultimately lead to $100,000 divided amongst finalists based on start-up needs, and includes pro-bono expert business counseling and connections to business partners. Good luck to Veronica and Requel and we look forward to following their journey! To learn more about Unbound RVA, visit their website at www.unboundrva.org.
