1. Why is Peter Paul no longer providing programming within Richmond Public Schools?
-
- We are fortunate to have partnered with Richmond Public Schools (RPS) for almost a decade, in five elementary-school-based Promise Centers. We will continue serving RPS students in the East End at our main location, The Coleman Center, while also looking to expand into community-based settings.
2. Does Peter Paul plan to return to school-based sites in the future?
-
- As with most organizations, the past few years have forced us to think differently about how we deliver our purpose and mission. What we learned from our students, families, and neighbors is that Peter Paul is a valued resource for our community, and we can do more. We want to continue with our full complement of education, family engagement, and community services that have been impactful. We want to focus on the replication of our models within the community-based settings while continuing to explore opportunities in school-based facilities.
3. With Peter Paul no longer providing afterschool programming within RPS schools, how many students are you able to serve?
-
- Within The Coleman Center, we can serve up to 100 students while maintaining a 2:16 teacher-student ratio.
4. How do I enroll my child/ren for the 2022-2023 academic year in the afterschool program?
-
- The enrollment application for the 2022-2023 academic year will open on August 1, 2022. Prospective students must live or attend school in the East End of the City of Richmond and are currently enrolled in the 2nd-9th grade
5. My child/ren currently participates in the summer program will they automatically have a spot during the school year?
-
- We will prioritize the enrollment of current students; however, you must complete the 2022-2023 academic year enrollment application for placement.
6. Is there a fee to participate in Peter Paul programs?
-
- Peter Paul does not charge our students, families, or community neighbors to participate in any of the programs we offer.
7. When does the afterschool program start, what are the hours, and does Peter Paul provide transportation?
-
- The program is scheduled to begin on September 12th and the program hours are 2:45 pm-6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Yes, Peter Paul provides transportation for enrolled students from their East End school to the Coleman Center and from the Coleman Center to their home.
8. I have children in multiple schools, will all my children be able to enroll in the Coleman Center for afterschool programming?
-
- We cannot guarantee enrollment however if space is available, we will work to enroll all eligible students.

-
- We are not a drop-in program and require that all enrolled students attend the program daily for the duration of the scheduled hours.

-
- We encourage you to connect with the RPS extended day coordinator to discuss possible options.
