Introduction: Peter Paul Development Center is a nonprofit organization committed to serving the community members of Richmond’s East End. All donations made to Peter Paul will be used to further our mission and will follow the policies and procedures outlined below.

Information that we collect: Peter Paul captures various information so that we may appropriately solicit, thank, and communicate with our donors. That information includes; amount donated, address, telephone number, donor comments, and e-mail address.  Tax laws in the United States and the Commonwealth of Virginia require that Peter Paul retain the contact information and contribution level of donors on file.

How we use donor information: Peter Paul does and will not publish, sell, trade, or rent information provided to us by our donors. This includes names, email addresses, street addresses, and telephone numbers. The exception to this would be if a donor releases his or her information for those purposes. Peter Paul will use donor information for the following:

  • Annual Report
  • Recognition lists (unless the donor requests to be anonymous)
  • Internal record keeping and analysis
  • Distribution of receipts and thank you letters for donations
  • Informing donors of Peter Paul news, upcoming fundraising appeals, or events
  • Informing donors of changes to policy
  • Relevant Federal and State reporting (not for public use)

Peter Paul’s use of information in annual reports and other published documents is for the purpose of highlighting donors and is categorized by giving amounts. If any Peter Paul donor wishes to remain anonymous or not be associated with their gift amount, we honor this choice. Donors may contact the Director of Development to assure their wishes are recognized. All other donors will be recognized in this way by default.

Financial Information: All and any access to information regarding our donors’ finances is strictly limited to appropriate professionals within the Peter Paul staff. Financial information is not shared with any groups, persons, or organizations that do not require such information.

We use a reputable donor database to maintain the financial data of our donors. This database and its processing services maintain strongly secured systems to contain the information it processes. Peter Paul is not provided, nor has access to, credit card, bank account or other data information processed through online payment options. We protect the security of credit card transactions using a number of measures such as encryption, access controls, network firewalls, and physical security. These measures make it extremely difficult for anyone to intercept the credit card information you send to us. When we work with other companies to process credit card transactions, those companies also use encryption and other appropriate security measures.

Contact Information: We are happy to speak with you about any concerns or questions you may have about our Donor Privacy Policy! Please reach out to us by phone, email or mail:
